LYL: double chocolate and banana tart

Okay, I am going to admit something. I only like bananas cooked. Like in banana bread, or muffins. So, I am sitting this one out. However, I think the tart LOOKs amazing and I can’t wait to see all your gorgeous presentations.

Leave ‘em right here.

double chocolate & banana tart, done; the “left-over” chocolate became the top-secret chocolate mousse (another fine recipe in the book)~ :-)

Um- yum ? There was just no way this wasn’t going to be a winner. And by the way- we tease Nana that she is the “Queen of Tarts” since she keeps us all filled with fruit tarts during the summer. Now we have a year round option :)

What a special treat — and different. I made minis with a non-banana version too.

Loved the contrast between the bitterness of the chocolate and the sweetness of the bananas. http://simplelivingdianebalch.blogspot.com/2012/05/around-my-french-table-double-chocolate.html

More caramelized bananas and leave off the top layer of bananas next time, but the crumbly crust, caramelized bananas and rich silky ganache were all exceptional!

I made this without the bananas. It’s the version she talks about in the side bar and it was a huge hit. Very rich! And I’m doing a giveaway of AMFT if you want to have another one to give to your favorite cook!
