With this heat, it seems fitting to enjoy a cold treat like this week’s French Fridays with Dorie recipe, (Meyer lemon) olive oil ice cream. [...]
[...] post this week is a catch up, since everyone else is making olive oil ice cream and I (sadly) do not own an ice cream maker. I’m glad I finally got to this recipe – it [...]

I don’t have an ice cream machine, so I had to sit this one out. Bummer. I look forward to reading everyone’s posts, though, b/c I can’t really imagine what olive oil ice cream tastes like!
I’m in the same boat, so I’m doing a catch up post for tomorrow, instead.
I didn´t have an ice cream machine but did it anyway!

So very firmly in the camp of “we would never have tried this were it not for FFWD”. It was quite a yummy adventure. I literally had to make this one simply to try to get my head around how this could possibly taste. And Nana approved too !
Summer is here and looks like that ice cream machine is going to get a workout.

Here’s mine: http://www.jemangelaville.com/2012/06/07/ffwd-olive-oil-ice-cream/ Delicious!
Posting early. Have a mini-crisis to deal with and may be gone a day or so.
Liked this recipe. Surprised.

Enjoy your week-end, everyone.
We used Lime Olive Oil – liked it, but didn’t love it: http://www.createamazingmeals.com/2012/06/lime-olive-oil-ice-cream-french-fridays.html

I can reply to some wordpress blogs but I NEVER can yours anymore:( Very frustrating! Anyhow, I always enjoy reading your posts. Congrats to your sister.
Used a very peppery olive oil and then drizzled it with meyer lemon infused olive oil and fluer de sel.

Wish that I would have used a peppery olive oil instead of a fruity one. WAY too sweet. :(

I took the ‘fruity’ olive oil concept too literally… Meyer lemon olive oil ice cream!

I thought I could get away with the olive oil I had on hand… major disaster.

Thought you would enjoy a dessert I made that was inspired by the caramelized bananas in the tart:

Loved it! Cannot wait to make this later in the season when my family visits.

We loved this. It sparked an ice cream extravaganza at our house.

So yummy! Figured out how to make it without an ice cream maker and really glad I did!

Such a pleasant flavor.

I refused to make ice cream. Here is my savoury/sweet dessert of Rosemary Olive Oil Bavarois. That’s just a fancy word for custard set with gelatine. But it’s awesome good!

And, thanks to all for your concerns. I try to never complain nor whine, not appropriate, but this has been a tough week, touch-and-go, to make Michael, my husband, comfortable. This has been a long journey, 13 years, and the next few months will be the most difficult. So, I need to keep busy and maintain my schedule. Hopefully I will be off to Colorado again in a week.
Here is my link, space cadet that I am-forgot to leave it on Friday! Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend;-)

Another double post: Lentil, Lemon, and Tuna Salad and the ice cream. We loved the ice cream with chocolate sauce!
