The pears worked better for me. We really enjoyed the poaching liquid finishing sauce. http://wp.me/p1Juyy-9K

Enough people have expressed an interest in hearing about my new adventure in Italy that I’m closing up shop over at Cookbook Immersion Project and moving my Dorie posts to another blog I’ve had for a while–Mandatory Fun. Same me, different blog…

Make chia pudding with the poaching liquid! You’ll not regret it. :)

Great idea on the chia!!! (Sorry, can’t seem to comment on your blog…not sure why) Can you please give approx proportions of almond milk, poaching liquid and chia for a good pudding? THANKS!

    Hey Everyone,

As you will read in my Post this week, I am going to South America tomorrow. On Monday, September 24, Aspen is going to meet Buenos Aires, LightsonBright is going to meet thevintagekitchen, Mary is going to meet Paula. We’re excited about the possibility and will share it all with you. I just may throw her in my luggage and bring her back to the States with me. Just another huge benefit of this wonderful cooking group.

I was grateful for the easy re entry to the group following my vacation. I’ve always enjoyed poached pears and this easy version was no exception.

I was inspired by a salad I had this week, so I adapted the recipe slightly by using peaches, poaching in white wine, and you can read and see the rest ;-)

Hello everyone! What a perfect dish this is for fall and for Rosh Hashanah where apples and honey take center stage. I love the flavor of the poaching liquid. I think it is just lovely.
