Time for March Nominations!

While February isn’t halfway over yet, we have completed half of this month’s recipes. It’s time to figure out what to make in March.

Please leave nominations as comments to this post before Wednesday (the 13th) night. The top contenders will go up for voting on Thursday. Based on the winners as of Sunday night (and any necessary admin adjustments for balance), the March schedule will be posted next Monday, February 18.

If you aren’t sure if we’ve already made something, all recipes completed in prior months can be found on this site’s Completed Recipes page.

Don’t sit back and see what the more vocal among us are thinking. Join in the fun and add your own voice! Let’s see what you’ve got in mind!

March is my most hated month of the year. Nothing is in season. So I picked out some recipes which should be good without any specialty seasonal produce.

garbure from the supermarket (one more soup before spring hits)
    green-as-spring veal stew
tuna confit with black olive tapenade & tomato salsa
    wheat berry and tuna salad

Though March is Vancouver’s most beautiful month (cherry blossoms!), Rosa’s right – it’s not a great produce month.

    How about:
two tartines from la croix rouge (42-3)
    garbure from the supermarket (86-8)
    cheesy crème brûlée (148-9)
    curried mussels (314-5)

Yep, March is a culinary black hole around here. (Our beautiful month hits around late-May/ early June)

    Pierre Herme’s Olive sables (12)
    Orange scented lentil soup (90)
    Cheesy creme brulee (148)
AND… I am campaigning for the Ispahan loaf cake (440) again :-)

If we want a main, I wouldn’t mind tackling ossu buco (270)

    I’m with Cher…

    Pierre Herme’s Olive sables (12)
    Orange scented lentil soup (90)
    osso buco (270)
    Ispahan loaf cake (440)

Osso Buco would be a great choice for this time of year.
