OK, a small change in the plans. I hope you’ll all be excited about this. Starting in March, one of the recipes will be “Admin’s choice” where we will pick one of the more challenging recipes or one with more unusual ingredients, that group seems to be shying away from. This will spread them out so we don’t have to do them all at the end. Think of those chicken liver gateaux as such a gift.
For March, the Admin’s choice will be the Ispahan Loaf Cake. Because we want to ensure balance across the month, there won’t be a dessert to vote for.
There are 5 Fridays in March, so of the remaining nominations with more than one person suggesting it, please select your top 4, keeping balance in mind. Ideally, we’ll have one appetizer, soup or salad, one main, one side dish, and one dessert each month.
Voting closes Sunday, February 17, and the March schedule will be posted on Monday February 18. So, let the voting begin.

Admin’s choice is a great idea! We definitely don’t want the last few months of this project to be a long slog through difficult recipes.
That sounds like a great plan. Thanks to all three of you.
Teresa, I found rose syrup that ships to Canada here:

(there are loads of options if you live in America, not so for us. I am sure you can get this around Toronto but wanted to be doubly sure I have all I need!)
Oh and also both extract and syrup are here:

Thanks, Mardi! I guess I will have to be more organized than usual for this recipe… :)
I’m going to check at Gourmet Warehouse, but the online option is great to have.
I think this cake is going to be amazing.
Great idea! Cher will be happy!
The syrup and extract are on order!
Yeah! My cake recipe. Woot! Woot! Woot!
I like the admin’s choice – because you know, if left to our own devices, the last few months would be kind of scary. Also, there are probably a few categories that have a heavy amount of recipes left to go through.
Hopefully, we can have a few months before any liver recipes show back up. I am still a bit traumatized… :-)
Good idea. Thanks for taking care of us!
I LOVE this idea. Sounds like the perfect way to slowly sprinkle those less popular recipes in before the end. Even I wasn’t going to have the courage to nominate the aspic recipe, but I also don’t really want it to be our last FFwD recipe ever!
Once again, I really do appreciate all of the extra work that our admins are putting in. Your organization has brought life back to the P&Q posts and re-energized our group. Thank you!
Nana and I think this is a wonderful idea, even if separately we each had different recipes we would be “holding out on” if left to our own devices. This great idea with ensure we don’t eventually finish our FFWD with a “bad taste in our mouths”….especially after all the months of joy we have had on this adventure. Thanks ladies !!
