Hi everyone! You may or may not know that it’s Food Revolution Day on Friday May 17th, 2013. What’s Food Revolution Day, you ask?
Food Revolution Day is a chance for people all over the world to come together and stand up for good food and essential cooking skills. It’s a chance for people to come together in homes, schools, workplaces and communities to cook and share their kitchen skills, food knowledge and resources. Food Revolution Day is a global day of action to raise awareness about the importance of good food and better food education for everyone.
The theme for this year’s Food Revolution Day is “Cook it. Share it.” – something all of us here at French Fridays with Dorie are passionate about already!
How can you get involved in Food Revolution Day? Check out some great ideas here. Many of you know that I am a Food Revolution Ambassador for Toronto, so my job, as well as hosting events, is to encourage others to host them too.
As an Ambassador, I know a lot of people who want to participate but are not able to do an “in person” event so I felt a great way to get some global participation would be to host a virtual “Cook it. Share it.” event – with some of my favourite cooks and bakers – you, the Doristas!
On Friday May 17th, here on French Fridays with Dorie, it’s “cooks’ choice” so instead of posting an assigned recipe, we ask all FFWD members to choose a recipe from Around my French Table that you loved (or would love to try, if it’s a recipe we haven’t made yet!) and Cook it. Share it. With family, friends, colleagues. Share how to make it with them. Blog about it on May 17th – Food Revolution Day. Leave your link and share it on your social media channels using the #FRD2013 hashtag.
Are you in? Click here to RSVP for French Food Revolution Friday with Dorie and cook and share for Food Revolution Day 2013.
