Duck & Tartines here – LOTS of tartines! :)

    Have a lovely Friday everyone!!

No rockstar antics from me this week. Battling jetlag and trying to pack for another trip tomorrow (!).

I shared a link to a cool “how to make shortcrust pastry from scratch in under 10 minutes” video I made this week and linked back to this page to all of your lovely creations. Yes, that’s right, Mardi took “une pause” !!!!!

Here we go – spicy Vietnamese chicken noodle soup. After this, I only have one more recipe to go and I will finally be caught up with Mardi :-) (Gerard’s mustard tart – which I have made, but never posted on).

P.S. If you did a make up recipe, you should totally go back to the week it originally posted and check out the LYL’s – it is a bit of a fun walk down memory lane to see how the group has evolved over time.

    Have a great weekend, all!

Socca from Vieux Nice for Nana and non cherry (as opposed to whole cherry….) clafoutis for Tricia.

    Win win.

I made the citrus-berry terrine pg 399 and it was such a disaster. Too much fruit to gelatin and it didn’t set right. I was going to take a picture but everyone picked the fruit out before I got a shot of it. Any advice on making this one? It is so beautiful looking I really want to try again.

Spending more time on the trail than in the kitchen as the High Country is filled with tourists enjoying their last bits of Summer…… drinking water from the beautiful glacial lakes (NO!), hiking in flip-flops (NO), losing each other while hiking (Husband-to-Ranger Mary, “Have you seen a really pissed-off woman in a purple shirt???”), the List goes on…….

Next week I will double down and Post on two Friday choices. I look forward to commenting on all of your Posts. See you next week.

It’s fun to see what everyone made this week! I made Tzatziki and Dieter’s Tartine.

I’m still trying to decide what to make, so I will probably be a French Saturday posting. Why is it when you have the freedom to select any make-up recipe I couldn’t settle on just one?

Until tomorrow – I did make a fun watermelon martini. Great for leftover watermelon if you ever have leftovers –

I hope we can do a few more make ups! I made the delicious and easy gougéres!

Whole cherry clafoutis for me. Easy peasy & so delicious. And yes, we should totally have more make up weeks.

Tartines and asparagus soup and I’m still behind schedule.

So grateful to have at least one week where I am not falling further behind! I didn’t have to go that far back….Zucchini Fritters with Tzatziki.

I didn’t manage to get myself together this week either. It looks like many of my missed recipes are desserts, and I just didn’t have the time to make (or eat) eclairs. I HAVE daydreamed about them, though. Planned to make the ginger pickled cucumbers, but my cucumber turned out to be moldy. I’ve made next week’s corn recipe before, but I’ll probably be a no-show for repeating it next week, because sweet corn is hard to come by here in Naples. I’ve only seen feed corn for animals. I had the same problem with last week’s duck. I was told by my Italian friend that they don’t eat duck here, so I wouldn’t be able to buy it. Time to get back on track!

I made Dieter’s Tartine. Simple and delicious:)

I didn’t make anything new this week, but wanted to check in and see how many of you are going to the International Food Bloggers Conference in my town of Seattle. I’m bummed beyond belief that I didn’t get registered before it sold out!!! And I live here! Grr. So, I’m on the waiting list and if I don’t get in, I would love to meet some of you anyway. I’ll be the lonely gal outside the W with a frown on her face…
