Beef on a string = Meat and potatoes, the French way. Leave your delicious links here.

This really surprised me as to how good it was – who knew that poached beef was delicious:
We were totally surprised, too! Just delicious: http://www.createamazingmeals.com/2014/02/french-fridays-with-dorie-boeuf-la.html
Was hoping to get the pastry done too but that did not happen – probably over the weekend:
here is my poached beef:
I’m completely underwhelmed. What a waste of a nice cut of meat. http://cookbookimmersionproject.blogspot.it/2014/02/ffwd-boeuf-la-ficelle-beef-on-string.html
I enjoyed this much more than I thought. I took some shortcuts.
Also, you totally can just remove the beef from the broth with tongs.
I posted this one back in October (oops) on great pot roast day…
P.S. I pre-ordered my copy of Dorie’s new book yesterday :-) Something to look forward to this fall.
I pre ordered it, too! Can’t wait!
Just pre-ordered mine!
Bill is loving Dorie again!
I did all make-up posts today. Back on schedule next week. Completed the Paris-Brest this week, merci mille fois to all your tips, suggestions and encouragement. Never, never, never did I think I could pull that together. What a group!
Loved by all. And universally agreed that we would not have ever poached such a lovely (and pricey) piece of meat, were it not for Dorie ~
I had to improvise.
Howard LOVED it! It wasn’t at all what I had envisioned. (I liked it too)
I will wait on this one, there’s no one home to eat a big roast. Catch up week for me!
My daughter and I loved this!
The flavors were wonderful, but I’m not sure I would make it again.
I’m late, but it’s still friday…happy friday everyone!! http://www.bakeawaywithme.com/2014/02/ffwd-boeuf-la-ficelle-or-beef-on-string.html
I played catch-up with the more economical hachis Parmentier. I’ll give the beef on a string a try when I make dinner for people I want to impress!
This was divine! I loved every thing about this dish, A perfect celebratory meal! http://kitchenconundrum.com/2014/02/boeuf-a-la-ficelle-beef-string-french-fridays-dorie/
Very late this week because of some weather issues and all-around laziness.
Neither of us are big meat and potatoes fans. Or boiled vegetable fans. This one was kind of doomed in our house from the start, I suppose. I love you Dorie, but please don’t ask me to poach beef tenderloin again. It’s too sad.
I caught up on this one, in place of this week’s Garbure: http://onewetfoot.ca/2014/02/28/a-french-fridays-catch-up-boeuf-a-la-ficelle-and-paris-brest/
Finally! Love using twine too!
Finally got this made and I loved it:
