This really surprised me as to how good it was – who knew that poached beef was delicious:

Was hoping to get the pastry done too but that did not happen – probably over the weekend:

I’m completely underwhelmed. What a waste of a nice cut of meat.

I enjoyed this much more than I thought. I took some shortcuts.

Also, you totally can just remove the beef from the broth with tongs.

I posted this one back in October (oops) on great pot roast day…

I did all make-up posts today. Back on schedule next week. Completed the Paris-Brest this week, merci mille fois to all your tips, suggestions and encouragement. Never, never, never did I think I could pull that together. What a group!

Loved by all. And universally agreed that we would not have ever poached such a lovely (and pricey) piece of meat, were it not for Dorie ~

Howard LOVED it! It wasn’t at all what I had envisioned. (I liked it too)

I will wait on this one, there’s no one home to eat a big roast. Catch up week for me!

The flavors were wonderful, but I’m not sure I would make it again.

I played catch-up with the more economical hachis Parmentier. I’ll give the beef on a string a try when I make dinner for people I want to impress!

Very late this week because of some weather issues and all-around laziness.

Neither of us are big meat and potatoes fans. Or boiled vegetable fans. This one was kind of doomed in our house from the start, I suppose. I love you Dorie, but please don’t ask me to poach beef tenderloin again. It’s too sad.

I caught up on this one, in place of this week’s Garbure:
