Mary, you crack me up! I couldn’t bear to make an anemic-looking salad so I made up the apples! I should have spiked these apples!
I should have added a splash or two of worchester sauce to the dressing!
Better than expected:
I was actually a huge fan of this.
Tasted better than it looked.
I probably would have felt more kindly toward this dish if I hadn’t just finished cleaning up after another foot of snow :-)
Now THAT’s the statement of the week — well said, my friend.
FYI…Bill is having open heart surgery on Wednesday to repair his mitral valve. I have my next two posts scheduled, but you may not see much of me for a while. Thanks for any good thoughts and prayers. xoxo
You certainly will have those good thots and prayers, Liz, and more. Please keep us posted. Sending love to you both and just know that Bill will sail through this with no trouble.
Dear Liz, Wishing Bill a safe procedure and a speedy recovery! Take care of yourself too!
Sending lots of good thoughts and energy toward Mr. Bill (and you). We need him to get well soon so that we can get his thoughts and opinions on your dishes. Take care.
Dear Liz, all the very best to Bill and you – sending good thoughts your way and whishing Bill a very speedy recovery!
Sending lots of love to everyone’s favourite FFWD taster, Mr Bill XO
All the best to you and Bill during his recovery.
Will be thinking of you and Bill! Best wishes on their way…

Celebrating Year Three of blogging………thanks for the ride, everyone.
Wish I liked this sale better.
Lizzy, My prayers and good thoughts are with you and Bill!
Thinking of you, Liz!
I thought the salad was wonderful … loved the freshness of it.
Not my cup of tea…
Liked the white-on-white effect of this recipe.
I’ve been a slacker but this is on the menu for tonight!
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! http://kitchenconundrum.com/2014/02/helenes-white-salad-french-fridays-dorie/
Such a busy day that I haven’t finished the post yet. The short version is: we didn’t like it. Not surprising – it didn’t seem like something either of us would like. Hope to have the post up Saturday afternoon! Happy Valentine’s Day!
Happy Valentine’s Sara – Your link is showing an error – I’ll keep checking back!
yeah, I’m still trying to get the post finished! so much to do, so little time!
Still Friday, with 3 minutes to spare :)
I did this one back in Nov. 2011 – not sure why other than I can’t follow directions. So I’m posting last weeks this week -long story that no one cares about.
Happy Valentines to all!
It’s twenty-five minutes to midnight and I thought this salad was surprisingly tasty.
I actually made a pair of white salads…
No All White Salad for this girl, but I did make Chicken and more Chicken.
Happy Valentine’s Day!!!
Late again but I really liked it even though I changed it a bit
Not a favorite. I also did a make-up: Leek & Potato Soup.
I was sick so I’m posting late. This wasn’t a favorite.
