    Hi everyone, sorry I didn’t get around to your Cornish hens – I’ve been suffering bad vertigo since I got back making computer time a little challenging :( Perhaps this is what accounts for my wonky interpretation of this week’s dish. I didn’t quite “get” it:

    Liked it, though the scallops weren’t truly necessary for something delicious. Also I tried my hand at homemade (quick and easy) puff pastry for the first time.

    I think what we have here is “stuff” on puff pastry…

    Delicious, if somewhat awkward to eat.

    I sorta liked this week’s recipe but would make changes. The Lesters joined me last weekend for the local wine festival. I hope you enjoy my version of the weekend – few words (yeah, really) but lots of pictures.

    I *loved* the bacon-onion topping, but preferred the scallop-less variation I made for the non-scallop eaters in my family.

    I also did a make-up recipe from November 2010!

    I agree with Karen, the bacon-onion mix was the best part, especially with a little balsamic.
