LYL: (French) Food Revolution Day 2014

For the second year in a row, guided by the enthusiasm of ambassador Mardi Michels, the Doristas are participating in Food Revolution Day.

This year’s theme is “getting kids excited about food”. Our charge from Mardi is to share a recipe from Around my French Table that you think every child should know how to make.

Leave those links here.

Be sure to share your post on all your social media channels using the #FRD2014 hashtag.

I will have to update this, since I couldn’t get wordpress to cooperate uploading photos. And I’m early since I’m going out of town to attend my mom’s art show opening. But here you go!

My kid chef couldn’t choose one dish so we had an entire “Dinner with Dorie” :)

    Happy Food Revolution Day folks!

Even though he’s been helping me cook most nights lately, wee man refused to help me prepare this specific meal. He did, however, deign to taste the soup–for the first time in his four year existence–and then he kept eating, so I call that a win! How does a kid go four years without eating any soup? It doesn’t seem possible.

Greetings to our Fellow Doristas and Happiest of Food Revolution Days !! We are not able to participate this year but wanted to send warm wishes and kudos to all who did post and to Mardi for again being an enthusiastic ambassador :)

We also wanted to update all that we have been out of pocket for some time now due to an unexpected serious illness of Nana’s hubby and taste tester, my Dad. He is on the road to recovery but priorities have shifted a bit. We hope to be back to cooking and commenting on a Friday in the very near future (perhaps with the mother of all make-ups ???:) Warmest regards and we miss you and and our French Fridays~ Tricia and Nana

This has been such fun – cooking with a couple of nice teenage boys. TYhey actually enjoyed it (told their Moms) and ask to do it again. Yea.

  14. betsyp May 16, 2014 at 6:25 PM #

A little late, and maybe not spot on with the assignment, but in the right spirit, I hope.

  15. Trevor Sis Boom May 16, 2014 at 8:49 PM #

I”m not cooking with kids today but I’m thinking about it. Someday. I did the cornish hens from a few weeks ago as what kid won’t like cooking a mini-chicken?

  16. Tanusree_Ma.Niche May 16, 2014 at 9:46 PM #

Made Hummus with my 2 1/2 year old. This was fun !

Although we did participate on Friday, I am a bit late posting – all the kids had a blast:
