I am hoping, seriously hoping I can fit the chicken in this weekend. I’ve been wanting to try it since I opened the book!

Pumpkin gorgonzola flans! I just couldn’t wait until Thanksgiving for these.

Post will be up after midnight…

Roast chicken for me this week, just the way I like it:

  3. ComeUndone November 11, 2010 at 4:40 PM #

I made roast chicken as well. Finally a juicy roast chicken that I do not need to seperate the skin from breast meat and massage it with herb butter. Chicken was quite tasty but can’t say the same about the bread.

Link will be up midnight eastern time.

I chose the Semolina cake this week….I truly enjoyed this one!

  9. Serene November 11, 2010 at 8:52 PM #

The flans weren’t to our taste, but they were easy and pretty, so I would still recommend them to people who might like the taste combo more. Post will be up after midnight:

I made the lazy people chicken, my favorite kind of recipe! It turned out well – very moist, but perhaps not as flavorful as I was expecting. My bread was soggy too. It has made for delicious chicken sandwiches for lunch!

  15. Karen November 11, 2010 at 10:30 PM #

Delicious, easy, satisfying! So easy and 8 year old can make it!

  16. lolo13 November 11, 2010 at 10:34 PM #

How wonderful to have a meal that celebrates a lazy afternoon.

My new best friend: Roast Chicken for Les Paresseux.

  18. Miss Kris Kitchen November 12, 2010 at 12:02 AM #

The chicken was easy, juicy, and turned out to be a very special dish…one that I will re-create again this weekend for our house guests. An entire delicious meal is roasted in very little time…I’ll have time to relax with our company without needing to spend hours in the kitchen. I guess I can just be lazy!

  19. Tabitha November 12, 2010 at 12:05 AM #

Pumpkin Gorgonzola Flans this week. OK, when do we start with the difficult recipes. The book does mention something about “French,” after all :). Just kidding, of course. I love simple but amazing recipes like this!

  20. beth@thescreenporch November 12, 2010 at 12:06 AM #

Those crispy, rich confit of baguette melted in my mouth like nothing I can remember in recent years. Les Paresseux Roast Chicken is a keeper.

My scrambled hens ran and hid when they heard how easy this chicken was to make. :) Delicious!

  37. gingerbreadbagels November 12, 2010 at 9:17 AM #

I made the roast chicken for les parreseux! It’s the first time there has ever been a savory dish on my blog. It’s strange seeing a chicken instead of a chocolate! :)

  41. Kate November 12, 2010 at 10:17 AM #

It was Roast Chicken for Les Paresseux for me! It was truly delicious. Yes I had a black bottomed pan but that certainly did not mean disaster! The chicken was moist and flavorful. This is a keeper recipe and goes on the rotation!

  42. katecooksthebooks November 12, 2010 at 10:32 AM #

After hearing Dorie on “All Things Considered” last friday I had to do the pumpkin:

Hi, Elaine! Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I love your idea of using tart cherries and I will have to look for brown farina and try that next time.

I made the potato gratin this week. I added a sprig of rosemary in the garlic-infused cream and then I topped it with pancetta after it had cooked.

Here’s my photo(before adding the pancetta):

I’m posting the Caramel Topped Semolina Cake this week. Another unique Dorie treat! I made it, the roast chicken and the pumpkin flan all last weekend so I’m “ahead” for the month…I plan on doing the potato gratin tomorrow to serve with PW’s BBQ Meatballs. Dinner for a friend who is coming to help me organize my “barn”. I’ll be looking forward to December’s choices soon! Though I may have to do the chicken again before the month is over…just to see what happens to that lovely bread when you get the wine in on time!

    • Deborah Balint November 12, 2010 at 8:18 PM #

The cake looks gorgeous! I’ll be making that and the chicken this week.

  60. Lana November 12, 2010 at 7:59 PM #

This one won our hearts:creamy, soft, with a nice hint of garlic and a wonderful golden crust of melted cheese. Not a spoonful was left.

How strange. I posted yesterday around 5:15pm PST and don’t see my post here. I made the Caramel Topped Semolina Cake.

  74. cdyost November 13, 2010 at 10:52 PM #

This week was potato gratin. You really can’t go wrong with layers of potato and cream, but if it weren’t for this group, I never would have made this.

  75. JLeah November 14, 2010 at 8:32 PM #

Roast chicken this week! Probably potatoes next. I learned all kinds of things with this recipe, some of which have absolutely nothing to do with chicken…

  76. Marie November 15, 2010 at 3:14 PM #

What might be the best potatoes in the world.

  77. Kendra November 15, 2010 at 7:34 PM #
