As a total carnivore, I can not wait to see all your perfect steaks. Yum.
Leave your links, folks.

I won’t be able to leave my link on Friday, so I’m posting early!
My first week here and I am very excited to join the group! I just made this for the family and also set off the smoke alarm but the steak was worth it :) Overall, I loved the steak but the rest of the family doesn’t love pepper as much as I do so next time I would reduce the pepper or change the seasoning. The sauce was great and I served it with roasted potatoes and asparagus (no need to risk setting off the alarm again with frites).
So glad you joined us! :)
My first week, also. My husband loves sauces over meats, so I have another one in my arsenal, now. He liked the steak and didn’t seem to mind that we own yet another accessory in our kitchen – a cast iron skillet. We just had our kitchen cabinets refinished, so I opted not to flame the cognac.
All that meat and Sarawak peppers made me a bit hot under the collar! But hey, some papaya frites helped cool things down… Interesting recipe, this one.
What can I say – I love a steak:
Oh Dorie you’ve out done yourself with this one! I’ll be forever indebted!
Steak is my guilty pleasure. I am both guilty and oh so pleased…
i especially love the contrast between the tender steak and the creamy, sweet sauce.
Steak was delicious!
I totally cheated on this recipe…but I was inspired to cook steak and fries because of Dorie’s recipe…but it is sooooo beautiful here in AZ that I just had to cook outside and so….well, that’s the way it goes sometimes……..
After a few weeks’ hiatus, I’m back again! WHEW!
And delicious steak, too. I used ribeyes ‘cuz they were on sale at my favourite meat market. Can’t wait to have the leftovers tomorrow! Maybe while I’m watching the Royal Wedding!
We loved this recipe! This was an amazing sauce and so easy! Oh, and I finally made the pancetta green beans, too, and they were delicious as well.
Best steak recipe ever! Loved FLAMING my sauce! http://www.stephsbitebybite.com/?p=1912
Fantastic – we adored this steak recipe. We are also posting a special family recipe from Nana this week as well. Enjoy !
Loved, loved, loved this at our house! With frites and all!
Here’s mine: http://www.jemangelaville.com/2011/04/28/ffwd-bistrot-paul-bert-pepper-steak/
Just had it for dinner a couple of hours ago. Wow! Delicious! On the side – Baked Rosemary Pommes Frites and sauteed broccolini. Oh, and a bottle of cabernet! ;-)
eek! My blog exploded overnight, but it’s back now! :)
Well it’s almost Friday, and I finally have an actual website up, not just a Facebook link! I’m thinking I want to try the cognac sauce next time too…
Love the new toy! Enjoy it.
I couldn’t find the comments link in your post, but your toys look like so much fun!
I couldn’t find the place to comment on your blog either, but your post looked amazing. Great job and now I want to go straight to Costco :)
We used steak from our first cow that we raised. And it was good.
It was interesting
I am so excited – this is my first week! We loved this dish – I used a less expensive cut of beef as well, and substituted red wine for the cognac, but it was delicious! Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
Welcome! Thanks for jumping in! :)
Steak and the royal wedding….
Peppery steak, yum!
This was probably my favorite FFwD yet: http://fakeginger.com/?p=1599
A wonderful preparation, and it was just in time for Easter. Looking forward to this and many variations. Cheers!
Whats not to love? All this and flame too!
I managed to tear myself off the Royal Wedding to finish my post!
My parents loved this!
Good morning, all! This is my first week as a member of FFWD, and I’m looking forward to getting to know everybody. I really enjoyed participating. Can’t wait to check out everyone else’s stories!
Welcome to the group! Glad you joined us. :)
I can think of lots of uses for this sauce! All delicious. Here’s my post: http://grandmaskitchentable.typepad.com/grandmas_kitchen_table/2011/04/french-fridays-with-dorie-bistrot-paul-bert-pepper-steak.html
Had so much fun with this week’s recipe!
Just so-so. Looked and smelled lovely but the flavors disappointed!
Lovely dinner! I made Pommes Souffle “fries” and steamed asparagus on the side. And a bottle of red, of course! Have a great weekend.
Wow,wow, wow, smoke, flames and the most flavorful steak with a beautiful sauce;-)
Looking forward to next weeks recipe
Super easy and quick. I love a recipe that’s easy to modify for my little ones. My five year old loved the sauce but the steak was a little too rare for him.
NOOO!!! Today is BRITISH Friday!!! Sorry, folks, but I just couldn’t do steaks today:
Loved this one!
We really loved this one and I had to embellish just a bit with bacon, mushrooms and of course made the frites too! Wonderful!
I face the flames and my fear all for a delicious recipe. Plus its my first one!
I made the men in my house very happy with this dish!
A wonderful, simple to fix dinner!! We loved it!!
Three weeks in a row that I haven’t made the dish during the week it was ‘assigned’. I felt I could still write, though, since I’ve made it before. ;) I only bent the rules a little …
I missed the last couple of weeks. I’m glad I did not miss this week.
Just in the nick of time! It’s almost Saturday :)
Loved loved loved this… pan-fried is my new way to cook steak!
Oh, this one is going to happen again soon: http://onewetfoot.wordpress.com/2011/04/29/ffwd-bistrot-paul-bert-pepper-steak/
Excellent way to cook a steak. Almost 7 year old loved it too – peppercorns & all!
This week there were 2 fabulous chefs in my kitchen
it was the perfect storm!
I did mine a la Bourguignonne. Was so good.
So proud of myself for not overcooking the meat!
