I won’t be able to leave my link on Friday, so I’m posting early!

My first week here and I am very excited to join the group! I just made this for the family and also set off the smoke alarm but the steak was worth it :) Overall, I loved the steak but the rest of the family doesn’t love pepper as much as I do so next time I would reduce the pepper or change the seasoning. The sauce was great and I served it with roasted potatoes and asparagus (no need to risk setting off the alarm again with frites).
So glad you joined us! :)
My first week, also. My husband loves sauces over meats, so I have another one in my arsenal, now. He liked the steak and didn’t seem to mind that we own yet another accessory in our kitchen – a cast iron skillet. We just had our kitchen cabinets refinished, so I opted not to flame the cognac.
All that meat and Sarawak peppers made me a bit hot under the collar! But hey, some papaya frites helped cool things down… Interesting recipe, this one.

Steak is my guilty pleasure. I am both guilty and oh so pleased…
i especially love the contrast between the tender steak and the creamy, sweet sauce.

After a few weeks’ hiatus, I’m back again! WHEW!
And delicious steak, too. I used ribeyes ‘cuz they were on sale at my favourite meat market. Can’t wait to have the leftovers tomorrow! Maybe while I’m watching the Royal Wedding!

eek! My blog exploded overnight, but it’s back now! :)
Well it’s almost Friday, and I finally have an actual website up, not just a Facebook link! I’m thinking I want to try the cognac sauce next time too…

I am so excited – this is my first week! We loved this dish – I used a less expensive cut of beef as well, and substituted red wine for the cognac, but it was delicious! Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Super easy and quick. I love a recipe that’s easy to modify for my little ones. My five year old loved the sauce but the steak was a little too rare for him.

A wonderful, simple to fix dinner!! We loved it!!
Three weeks in a row that I haven’t made the dish during the week it was ‘assigned’. I felt I could still write, though, since I’ve made it before. ;) I only bent the rules a little …
