These were so good! I used them in eggplant caviar and couscous. I need to make more!
Wanted to make them over the weekend … wound up making them late last night, developing my own take on Dorie’s method
they were incredibly FAB with pasta, a little oil and balsamic and a sprinkling of Parmesan.
planning on doing this again and making some roasted tomato SOUP and putting it in the freezer to get me through the long, tomato-free winter months.
Christina made these, and they look awesome! http://www.franklyentertaining.com/2011/08/05/ffwd-simple-slow-roasted-tomatoes/
Slow-Roasted Tomatoes: Vegetable or Candy? Loved them.
Leave it to Dorie to turn simple ingredients into something so special. Not to mention to convince us to turn on the oven for 3 hours in August…….
We both loved it !!
I still can’t post comments on your blog. Other’s yes…but not yours. so…Ladies, your tomatoes look fabulous. I made a double batch too and am so glad I did. I think I’ll try them with some pasta tonight…good idea!
I agree wholeheartedly – pretty fantastic (and, simple). My Sicilian neighbors do sun-dried tomatoes (delicious) in the old European-style (merci to the Las Vegas sun) and Dorie’s Tomates Confites are almost as good. Using them for eating, for a dinner party centerpiece and for gift-gifting. I’m hooked.
Simple and delicious!
Could not be easier….
Fabulous mixed with pasta and fresh mozzarella:
Oh, how I love slow-roasted tomatoes. And I don’t even like tomatoes.
I’m on vacation this week. I cooked anyway!!
I am glad that I was not frightened by the long and slow roasting time. I would have missed a wonderful tomates confites :) I served it as a side for my dijon mustard pork chop :)
We tossed them with pasta and Smoked Mozzarella – lovely recipe!
Can’t wait to see how everyone used their slow-roasted tomatoes!!
Turned the tomates to a panzanella bread salad in lieu of fresh. Incredibly good!
These were super good!
This wasn’t the first time I’ve made these, and it definitely won’t be the last!
Loved! And I am so excited to be posting again…it has been a while.
We love roasted tomatoes in our house and Dorie’s recipe was great.
Roasted tomatoes is a favorite of ours.
What a surprising wonderful dish! Thanks Cher & Susan for the tips! You rock sistas!
All of your successes sound wonderful. I couldn’t face turning on the oven for 3 hours when it’s 100+
new blog in progress, hope that this will work better!
I’m so happy to be back participating once again. I LOVED this recipe:
We had posted, before the August recipe list came out, on our site our version of roasted tomatoes & dishes we make with them. It has always been a go to recipe of ours ! Have to check out Dorie’s. Hope you enjoy it.
Loves it!! :)
Best way to use summer tomatoes (with possible exception of BLTs).
After two months I have returned with one of the easiest and yummiest recipes out there. Missed catching up on everyone’s posts and thoughts.
Summer tomatoes in any form are wonderful! Loved these…
Loved this! We will be making it again for a savory breakfast and during the day dessert!
These slow roasted tomatoes are good with halibut and zucchini;-)
Was very happy to try this easy recipe. Tasted just as good as a much more difficult one I’ve been making for years.
Good stuff, good stuff…
All I needed to enjoy these was a loaf of bread… wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!
Nice, easy, useful – loved it: http://onewetfoot.com/2011/08/05/ffwd-slow-roasted-tomatoes/

These were spectacular! We had them on steak Sunday and on pasta today! Time for another batch! Wonder if they would freeze well?
