Happy Friday, all!
The color was a little deceptive, but the dish was wonderful!
Your burger looks beautiful!
Yes, it was pretty tasty! Baba Ghanoush still has a slight edge, though.
I got a little extra inspiration on how to serve this. All of us enjoyed it so much!
I confess to my food hang ups in this week’s recipe:
I had fun with this one, and even cried a little! … read on!
Also, for those interested, I have made a FB page for my blog so you can see what is going to be coming out and what delicious tasty treats are being dreamt up! Find the “like” button on my blog! Or search for A Mama, Baby & Shar-pei in the Kitchen on FB!
Thanks for sharing, I was wondering myself about a little dijon to go with it. I couldn’t believe how moist the burger was!
I will definitely be making this one again. So tasty and good for you to boot!
Everyone loved this! A real winner.
Love cooking and French food. I’m excited to join in the group, starting off with this tasty dip.
What is it with the capers? I debated with my other half and won out on trying it the first time with capers – but only because the recipe called for it,and I felt that the purpose of French Fridays was to try it exactly how the recipe described.
I like anything that can make me eat an entire eggplant in one sitting.
I love anything to do with eggplant, so this recipe was a clear winner for me from the word ‘Go’!
Me too! I was afraid I would be the only one but I love eggplant.
I made it twice but didn’t share…..
I peeled and sliced my eggplant before roasting (unclear on the concept-helps to read the recipe) and layered it into a salad;-)
110 Degrees in Las Vegas/Henderson and a 400 Degree oven?!? Do I get extra-credit, gold stars, Chef’s hat, anything?????
I liked the Eggplant Caviar, especially as a spread. I also roasted peppers yesterday and used both items to make a sandwich, as Dorie had suggested. Delicious. Now, on to hamburgers next week!
I agree. Phoenix is 112 so I think we should be making ice cream…but this is a healthy and easy recipe…a new way to get my vegetables, which, believe it or not, when all my kids moved away and I’m are not making sure they get their veges, I find myself moving on to brownies.
I am trying to love eggplant and this helped:
Another great one this month! Happy Friday everyone.
I’m anxious to read what the rest of you thought of this week’s recipe … Here’s my thoughts: http://tammycirceo.typepad.com/tammy_circeo_musings_on_l/2011/08/french-fridays-with-dorie-eggplant-caviar.html
Hope everyone has a great and cool weekend!
I really enjoyed this one! Such a nice treat for lunch!
Great recipe! I’m on the road but made this on Tues;) http://wp.me/pGWOK-13r
Oven malfunction so didn’t get to the eggplant caviar yet – so i’ve posted on last week’s salmon in a jar instead!
Divine Eggplant Caviar! I loved this recipe even though I’m not s huge fan of eggplant. http://www.findingfrenchie.com/2011/08/eggplant-caviar.html
Simple post for a simple dip that tastes amazing
Nice dip…but needed a bit more zip :)
This was an amazing dish and perfect for our summers in Palm Springs! Cannot wait to make it again.
I knocked this out at the last minute while Nana will be up to bat next week. Not sure that I made this one correctly (rushed) so I am looking forward to reading through everyone else’s posts and seeing what I can do differently next time.
I am a big fan of roasting and eggplant, so I will be revisiting this one. But not when it is 90 degrees and my oven has to be on at 400 for 45 minutes :)
In light of my severe spring clean, I feel like chanting like my 2 year old nephew “I did it! I did it!” But I totally didn’t.
I liked this one a lot! http://onewetfoot.com/2011/08/19/ffwd-eggplant-caviar/
Thank God I did not give this a miss…it was the most delightful dip/spread for the sopes I made :) Happy Friday to all :)
This was especially good with the slow-roasted tomatoes!
This is a gussied-up version of one of our favorite recipes…we loved it!
Sorry for the lateness…lazy days of summer and all…
I’m a little late, so happy weekend! Was prepared not to love this one, but am pleasantly surprised. I see we have a lot of eggplant lovers here!
Was there eggplant in there? I must have tripled the garlic.
Oh, just a little late!
