Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!
For some reason I always have trouble leaving a comment on your blog and this week it really doesn’t like me. So here is what I was trying to leave…
I really appreciated your post. I grew up in Vermont and spent much of the past week worried about friends and family who still live there. Luckily those close to me seem to have escaped the worst of it, but their communities are still reeling and the pictures coming out of my little home state are just heartbreaking. I hope that all of our FFwD crew and loved ones are safe & dry.
Thanks. I live fairly close to Vermont – and it is very bizarre to realize that roads I travelled on just a couple weeks ago are missing – whole communities totally cut off. It is absolutely heartbreaking.
Glad your friends & family are safe.
We like soup and we like corn so this one was pretty easy.

Easy and pretty!
Delicious, but this was my second day in a row with a corn dish. I’m tapped out on corn for awhile now!

Tried leaving a comment but was unable to on your blog. Your CSA box looks fabulous! How fun to get a delivery and be surprised with the contents.
Here’s mine: http://www.jemangelaville.com/2011/09/01/ffwd-corn-soup/
I changed it up a little but as I had to use an avocado before it went bad … voila! Mexican Corn Soup ;-)
I loved this soup! http://tammycirceo.typepad.com/tammy_circeo_musings_on_l/2011/09/french-fridays-corn-soup.html

Tried leaving a comment on your site, not sure if worked, just in case it didn’t:
I love how cooking reminds us of so many memories. Thanks for sharing yours. Those roasted tomatoes look delicious – may make some myself this weekend. Thanks for the inspirations!
Yum!

I am a corn-fed Iowa girl, born and bred, so if anyone does not like this recipe, I will take it personally. At first I thought this soup was too light (I am a bit heavy-handed with any recipe) so I made a thicker version. Nope, Dorie’s was better. I liked it, especially for Summer.

Hi Robin, I tried to leave you a comment. Your soup looks lovely, and I wanted to add the crab meat too, but didn’t have any.
Have a great weekend!
PS, great photos!
LOVED this soup. Fresh and colorful.

Great Post! Lovely photos – makes me ready to make this again!
Looks like this one was a winner all the way around. Us too, although I’d never actually cut kernels off a cob before. What a newbie. Love this long weekend!

Tried leaving a comment, and it wouldn’t let me – Loved your blog, isn’t it fun that FFWD makes us try so many things!

I really enjoyed this soup and my partner, who’d been dubious about it, was pleasantly surprised to find he loved it, too. He even asked for seconds!
http://onewetfoot.com/2011/09/02/ffwd-corn-soup/
Sorry this is late, but Friday’s are hectic. Soup was a hit as was the creme fraiche!
I wished it tasted a little “cornier” but it was delicious.
Enjoy the holiday mes amis!
I’m late. It was a crazy week and no time to cook but the weekend.
