Another winner! It turned out to be quick and easy, much to my surprise.

We loved the no stir method! Double hit! We served this tasty side with roasted herb de provence chicken & roasted thyme fish that we included.

We LOVED this! It was exactly as the title says, creamy, cheesy and garlicky!

This was a HUGE hit at our house!

OK, I’ll admit. I was skeptical of un-rissoto’d rice, but it was delicious!!
http://gaaarp.wordpress.com/2011/09/09/creamy-cheesy-garlicky-rice-with-spinach-ffwd/
I made this a few months ago and it was not very good. With a few tweaks, it turned out great this time!
http://cookbookimmersionproject.blogspot.com/2011/09/ffwd-creamy-cheesy-garlicky-rice-with.html
Well, technically there is no rice in my rice dish. So, one big tweak, and few smaller ones. We enjoyed the flavors.

Okay, so this is the second time I’ve read the assignment wrong! If you’re looking for a preview of the madeleine recipe then come on over! http://www.franklyentertaining.com/2011/09/09/ffwd-honey-spiced-madeleines/
Whatever it’s called, creamy cheesy rice or risotto, this rice dish will be making an appearance in our home again soon!

Happy French Friday! My favorite day dof the week. This was a great dish, but I missed the process of making risotto! Can’t wait to read about everyone elses!

I didn’t make this week’s creamy cheesy rice because the truth is I felt too fat from overeating this past holiday weekend so I posted this Key Lime pie instead which is one of the things I ate over the weekend !!!! Happy French Friday to everybody;-)

A really wonderful rice dish! Delicious! Happy French Friday Everyone!
Well, it seems like every week my computer gets fussy with someone else’s blog and decides that I am not allowed to leave a comment. This week seems to be your turn. Here is what I was trying to leave…
I am so sorry to hear that the flooding is continuing in your area, hopefully the weather gets better soon. I really don’t think the North East can take much more. Despite everything it is pretty impressive that you were able to get this week’s dish on the table, now THAT’s dedication!
Have fun visiting your family.
Pleasantly surprised!

I’m still on the fence about this one. It felt a little too rich for my taste but DH loved it.
http://greatfood360.com/2011/09/09/french-fridays-with-dorie-creamy-cheesy-garlicky-rice-with-spinach/
Tasty dish. We liked it.

I didn’t know if I would have a chance to make this week’s recipe, but it was a great side to our flank steak last night!
http://tammycirceo.typepad.com/tammy_circeo_musings_on_l/2011/09/french-fridays-with-dorie-creamy-cheesy-rice.html
Tammy – your rice looks great. For some reason, typepad is not liking me today and I couldn’t comment on your blog so here’s my comments: oooh, with flank steak. Excellent. Did you use anything on the flank steak besides salt and pepper? The two dishes look great together.
Happy Friday! Good flavors. This French rice is a nice change from our usual Spanish rise.

I’m thinking of making this mexican-style by replacing the spinach with cilantro and the cheese with a mexican blend to go with home-made carnitas tonight. Any opinion on how this would work out??
I think it would work out well – maybe add some tomato also!
Oh – that would have been good – I was thinking that as I took the picture. But it did come out delicious. Here’s the link: wp.me/pMKEo-um and thanks for the suggestion!
Much better than I thought it would be.

My first FFWD! I loved this recipe – it was so simple, quick and flavorful. Definitely comfort food! We loved it in our house and will surely make it again!

Yummmmmmy!!! I made mine with mushrooms instead of spinach.

After a month-long blogging hiatus, I’m back! I love risotto, and I LOVED this:

Unfortunately, I was also unable to make this rice. Southern CA/parts of Arizona experienced a massive power black out from 3:30 p.m. to almost midnight last night, so it was a bit hectic. If you want some laughs, check out my post on a friend’s Rat Pack/Sinatra birthday party (featured on Blogher today) with a recipe for cannoli, and the second post “When in Rome” featuring an Italian Prune Plum Tart.

Great recipe, look forward to reading what everyone served with this.

Liked this. Liked it better the next day!
Of course it would help if I left the link! LOL!

Not my favorite. My fault though.

http://lyabroudy.blogspot.com/2011/09/creamy-cheesy-garlicky-rice-with.html, loved it, but so far from the recipe!
http://storingchocolate.blogspot.com/
This tasted great!
Delish, if a bit rich…also made chicken a la Normande since I had cream, OMG
Made a few changes… Oh so good!
http://frenchwhisk.blogspot.com/2011/09/french-fridays-creamy-cheesy-rice-with.html
oopS!
Mmm…how could cheese, starch, and garlic NOT be delicious? Even with some spinach snuck in to counterbalance the cream? : )
http://heathercellini.com/blog/2011/09/09/sorta-risotto-a-la-dorie/
I made a full batch, used half to stuff peppers today and am looking forward to using the leftovers as a side dish tomorrow. Nice, quick and tasty! http://onewetfoot.com/2011/09/09/ffwd-creamy-cheesy-garlicky-rice-with-spinach/
Hi! Haven’t been here in a while – glad to be back. Will be by to see your post soon!
Very nice stuffing for peppers. Can’t say no to rice, ever. This was good, good, good!
http://sweetalmondtree.blogspot.com/2011/09/creamy-rice-with-spinach.html
Hi friends, I was wondering if anyone has made the pumpkin filled with everything good? I’m thinking about it for Thanksgiving. I usually don’t do a trial run with recipes, but I think I might, unless someone else already has – then maybe I’ll be more brave!
Well, I’m so glad to be back and per usual, I’m a day late and I was out of arborio rice but I had a blast with it anyhow and it came out delicious. Hello to everyone and glad to be here!
http://omgyummy.wordpress.com/2011/09/10/french-fridays-with-dorie-creamy-cheesy-garlicky-rice-w-spinach/
Yum! Need a double recipe next time…one of my family’s favorite dishes is risotto, and they don’t care that this isn’t Italian!
http://theviewfrom302.blogspot.com/2011/09/really-i-made-this-one-early.html
A little late. It was amazing and I’m going to go get it now for breakfast.
http://thesavourypage.com/2011/09/11/ffwd-creamy-cheesy-garlicky-rice-with-spinach/
Great way to use up any leftover creamy, cheesy, garlic rice with spinach – risotto cakes.
http://robinsrecipebook.blogspot.com/2011/09/risotto-cakes.html
Sorry I’m late this week. So many hobbies, too little time! Loved this one. I think it might be my summer replacement for traditional risotto, just to skip all the stirring and heat. Delish!
http://www.apronthyme.blogspot.com
I cannot seem to post on time! I loved this recipe though!
I ♥ risotto!

Is anyone having trouble finding the cookies for this weeks’s recipe?
I’m not having any luck in Spokane :(
I am a little late in posting — but had to say we LOVED this dish!
