    HAPPY THANKSGIVING, DORISTA’S

One of the things I have to be thankful for this year is joining with all of you every week to cook and share. As you know, I am not a traditional food blogger, my Blog is a little different. However, I love learning from you and being with you every week. Thank you for including me.

Happy Thanksgiving one and all! We will be celebrating the holiday with friends this Saturday. In the meantime, I am thankful to be part of such a fun & inspiring group of home cooks. I have had such a great time cooking along with all of you this past year and can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with this week.

With everything else going on I opted for something quick and easy, Dorie’s Potato Chip Tortilla…

For today cook’s choice , I have chosen Curried Chicken,Peppers and Peas en Papillote. It turned as what Dorie said about the dish..full of flavor, fragrant and colorful…the perfect dish to serve for thanksgiving for just the two of us. Wild Boar and myself :) Take a peep and you will want to have this too !

Happy Holiday Season! I’m still catching up on reading last weeks posts. Good news is I will have lots of time – bad news is having surgery on Tuesday and will be home for the holidays (not so bad I guess). Not sure I’ll get to post next Friday since I may still be in hospital, but hopefully I’ll be back home and able to post. Looking forward to having lots of catch up time!

I selected the All White Salad & Swiss Chard Pancakes for this week – loved them both!

Today I had to choose the 20 minute honey glazed duck breasts that I hated myself for missing a few weeks ago. I’m always late…

Although we are not posting a link this week, we could not let the day pass without wishing everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving !!

While we are NOT thankful that I forgot my camera upload cord (so we can’t share the photos of Dorie’s corn soup enjoyed again this week), and NOT thankful that I could not get lamb up here in Vermont where I had hoped to catch up on last week’s post, and NOT thankful that Nana could not access her draft email to secure her Roasted Red Pepper post…….

we are VERY THANKFUL for all the Doristas and the enjoyment and camaraderie (camara-dorie ?)we get each week. On French Fridays ~

This week I chose Baked Apples Filled with Fruits and Nuts- an alternative to my beloved usual- pie. The apples were delicious.

I too am thankful for this fun way to cook, blog and share. It’s so inspiring and entertaining! Thanks go to Dorie and all of you who maintain this site and participate regularly!

Hey- are any of you having trouble with your Dorie book? I’m here less than six months and my book is falling apart. Sections in the back just popped away from the binding and the binding is not broken. Trust me I have been gentle! I see a new one on my Christmas list, perhaps.

I hope it’s been a happy holiday weekend so far in the States. I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone’s chosen to make. I did a catch up on the squash soup from a couple of weeks ago. It’s really good.

I can’t wait to read everyone’s posts. I see a lot of variety in everyone’s choices.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Enjoy the long weekend if you’re having one.

Yikes – I finally finished early but got so wrapped up in cooking and entertaining that I forgot to post! In California, I’ve made it on Friday by a little over an hour! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! My post is slightly unorthodox because the recipe is inspired by AMFT, but is actually a riff on one of Dorie’s sweet and savory cookies recently written up in Food and Wine. Here’s the story of these yummy
    orange thyme cocktail cookies:

I didn’t make any Dorie recipes for Thanksgiving (my family insists on having the same things every year!) but I did make the mustard tart earlier last week. I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekends. Thank you all for being such a welcoming group! http://joracooks.blogspot.com/2011/11/gerards-mustard-tart.html
