French Fridays with Dorie Thu, 25 Jun 2015 05:55:58 +0000 en-US hourly 1 LYL: Celebration Week #4 — The Grand Finale Fri, 19 Jun 2015 04:01:26 +0000 French Fridays with Dorie finished working its way through all the recipes in Around My French Table last month. We’ve stretched out le fin by spending the past four weeks celebrating and reflecting on the journey. This week, the long goodbye ends.

The charge this week:

For the improvisers among us, share an original recipe that was inspired by an AMFT recipe or do a recipe that you would like to Make-Up or just make again. We also suggest that you say whatever you wish to say in this Post. We intend to have boxes of tissues on hand when we read everyone’s posts.. Do your best with this one.

In other words, anything goes. This is your chance to wrap it up.

Thanks to Laurie for initiating this group and creating and hosting an environment for us to share our experiences over the past 4 years, 8 months and 21 days. Thanks to Dorie for writing this wonderful book that has taken the Doristas on an unforgettable journey, both individually and collectively.

For Mary and me, it’s been a joy and pleasure to shepherd you along for the past (nearly) three years. This group is special one. The friendships we’ve forged both on-line and in person are treasured. We look forward to continuing these friendships and following everyone’s future adventures, whether through shared projects or not.

The future of FFwD is now back in Laurie’s capable hands.

A bientôt,
Betsy and Mary

LYL: Celebration Week #3: The Play-It-Again-Dorie Recipe Fri, 12 Jun 2015 04:05:34 +0000 As we continue with the “long goodbye”, this week’s theme is to share your thoughts and musings about the recipe from the book that you have made the most often. Or, that you have made a variation of the most. It may not be your favorite or your AHA recipe but it’s the Repeater.

Leave your links here.

LYL: Celebration Week #2: The Never-Doubt-Dorie Moment Fri, 05 Jun 2015 10:43:00 +0000 The celebration continues! Over the years, we’re sure you were skeptical going into one of our recipe challenges and out of the process but emerged on the other side with, not necessarily a favorite or even something you liked making, but with an unexpected nugget. It could have been a new technique, your own bonne idee or some other lesson. Share your link to your “never-doubt-Dorie” moment here.

Choose your favorite, loved the most, best recipe in FFWD to share this week and tell us Why! Also share with us your Top 5 favorites list (we know some of you will share more, but that’s OK).

LYL: chicken in a pot: the lemon and garlic version Fri, 22 May 2015 04:17:28 +0000 It’s with mixed emotions that we put up the LYL post for our final shared recipe in Around My French Table. How fitting that we finish with the cover recipe: Chicken in a Pot: the lemon and garlic version.

We’re not saying goodbye to the AMFT adventure quite yet. Over the next four weeks we’ll have a chance to wax poetic and share memories of our experiences over the past 4+ years.

Oh, what a ride it’s been!

P&Q’s: Chicken in a Pot – the Garlic and Lemon Version Sun, 17 May 2015 18:06:55 +0000 It’s time to cook the cover, Everyone,  and I hope you all will participate. I made this recipe a week ago and loved it. I followed the recipe as Dorie wrote it and even had a screwdriver at the ready. Have fun with this one. But, if you have problems, issues, concerns or tips, please leave them on our FFWD link so everyone can participate whether they are on Facebook or not.

LYL: seafood pot-au-feu Fri, 08 May 2015 04:09:47 +0000 To repeat what Mary said in the P&Q post this week, this recipe completes the Fish & Shellfish chapter, which is both good news (especially for Mardi) and bad news. Either way, leave your fishy links here!

P&Q: Seafood Pot-au-Feu Sun, 03 May 2015 16:49:54 +0000 Good Morning, Everyone,  The good news is that  Seafood Pot-au-Feu is our last fish recipe.  And, the bad news is that  Seafood Pot-au-Feu is our last fish recipe. I have only one more P&Q to write. (sad face font) So, any problems, suggestions, questions or thoughts, leave them here.  In my gratefulness journal, I am continually jotting down “Doristas”.  (FrenchFridays ranks right up there in my gratefulness journal with “Original Fritos”.) Don’t forget that on May 15th we are celebrating (for our third year) Food Revolution Day and our own Mardi’s contribution to it.
